Michelin Star chef Andrew Pern’s first book, ‘Black Pudding & Foie Gras’, has triumphed at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2008 – picking up the ultimate accolade, the hotly contested ‘Best UK Chef Book’. The book will now go on to compete with the successful books from around the globe, jostling to be crowned ‘Best in the World’ in May 2009.
“Black Pudding & Foie Gras is Andrew’s culinary autobiography, striking the perfect balance between showcasing many of The Star Inn’s mouth-watering dishes (including the title dish) and the heart-warming account of Andrew’s fascinating life around food. Deeply routed in and around The Star Inn, Andrew Pern’s critically acclaimed restaurant in North Yorkshire, the book has a distinctly earthy feel, featuring local suppliers and an amazing selection of the finest recipes one the UK’s leading chefs has to offer.”
Whilst the book is written for the kitchen, its equally at home on the coffee table – within the luxurious suede cover there are 400 stunningly designed pages, featuring photography from award-winners Antonio Olmos and Sam Bailey. Written by Andrew Pern and designed by Face, its a truly unique book in the food market.
If you have yet to secure a copy Black Pudding & Foie Gras is currently listed at Amazon.co.uk for £25.99.
