Britain’s interest in good food has certainly come a long way in recent years and the popularity of celebrity chefs is just the tip of the iceberg. In fact British foodies are more curious about food than ever before with two-thirds of us eager to learn more about taste and how our taste buds, flavours and food combinations work.
Foods from all over the world have become staples to the British diet and no other cuisine is as familiar as Italian. Yet there may be more to your spag bol and margarita than you think – Italian food veteran and tomato doyen Paulo Battisel has become the first ever Tommelier. To learn a little more about the delicacies of Italy’s favourite ingredient, here is Tommelier Paulo Battisel himself in a video clip.
