…these figures make Colchester the mince pie eating capital of the UK! An accolade they have now won for the third year in a row. An astonishing 201,000 pies have already been eaten by Essex pie fanciers in the last month – as the region out-scoffs its nearest rival by almost 30,000 pies.
* Hedge End in Southampton came in second with shoppers having eaten 172,134 pies
* Emerson’s Green in Bristol wasn’t far behind with 168,192 pies
* Chippenham devoured 162,588 pies
* Christchurch, Dorset comes in fifth with 160,212
and they say northerners eat all the pies…
