I am trying to find a recipe published in BBC Good Food Magazine December 1997. It was for a spectacular pie with rosemary pastry. The photo was on the front of the magazine.

Cook Vegetarian Magazine now has a brand new website to accompany it - there are recipes which you can rate and comment on which is great if you are not sure about whether you want to to cook something, and you can swap your own recipes and get them rated as well!
Take a look at http://www.cookveg.co.uk to see what I mean!

I would really love to get into food writing and recipe columns/pages...my speciality is vegan cookery. Chef for 15 yrs, Cordon Bleu qualified..worked on yachts,in ski chalets, private houses..you name it!
I'm going into secondary teaching hopefully, and also want to get my cookery demos and courses on the go again.
Anyone got any ideas?? What about with 'Cook Vegetarian' :o)

I think people are absolutely entitled to their own opinion, though I find Beverley White's comments a little OTT! First off horses for courses, but I think it's fair many of us have been inspired by the recipes. My friends and I are always swapping recipes and ideas because there has been so little out there, but two of my friends sent the me the same recipe from Cook Vegetarian! within the space of an hour! Furthermore I do appreciate the point about advertising, though her comments do not suggest someone who has worked in advertising recently. Advertising appears to be vital to every magazine, and it's only when they reach the size of BBC Good Food can they the magazine itself start setting the agenda. So for the ads to go we have to buy lots of copies!! All round I thought this was a fantastic read, and it's nice not to feel so marginalised. Furthermore I think the veggie version of BBC Good Food is a disgrace, now that really is a collection of previously run recipes hurled together in a cheaply put together style. Compare the veggie version to the Christmas issue of BBC Good food to see my point.

I have to say, i got the first issue of this and loved it. We had the mushroom and ale pie on saturday for tea and thought it was great. I've asked for a subscription for Christmas!

On the other hand, the good food veg christmas, i think is an absolute waste of money.
