Having launched successfully and being stocked immediately by in excess of 200 Waitrose outlets and being positioned competitively as a credible alternative to the ordinary range of juices Coldpress is fast expanding across the United Kingdom.

Coldpress provides a more thirst quenching, better tasting juice that is much high nutrition value than it’s competitors. By using a cold pressure as opposed to boiling the juices the brand retains a lot of its existing aromas and textures that the heated juices do not hold. Its unique bottle design sees it being an exciting and breath of fresh air in what is a fairly crowded market in the UK.

Coldpress is available in 250ml and 750ml bottles designed for the consumer market and retail routes as well as the new ‘Bag in a Box’ product that is far more cost effective to the restaurant, bars, clubs and other outlets.

Coldpress Fruit Juice is available in seven flavours that include – Pink Lady, Golden Delicious, Valencia Orange, Apple & Lemon, Apple & Passionfruit, Apple & Raspberry, Apple & Strawberry.

With three varieties of gravadlax including beetroot, pesto and lemon & pepper, Coln Valley’s latest creation is expected to be a hit within the foodservice sector for its diverse range of flavours and ability to provide hotels and restaurants with a convenient luxury menu item.

Mark Osborne, Coln Valley’s Managing Director, comments: “As an artisan producer, we aim to provide the industry with a choice of contemporary flavours that push the boundaries of traditional products. We want to create food that inspires chefs and appeals to those who appreciate fine food. The Trio caters for both audiences and is likely to be a hit throughout the festive season and beyond.”

Cured using traditional techniques that have made the smokehouse one of the UK’s most well-respected traditional artisan producers, Coln Valley’s expanding gravadlax range is generating acclaim throughout the UK and abroad.

The Trio of Gravadlax launch follows the success of Coln Valley’s summer flavour, the Pimms Gravadlax, which first appeared at Wimbledon in 2010 and is now widely available following popular demand.

Respected by many world-class chefs for its flagship kiln-baked salmon, Coln Valley’s customers include premium London food halls and delicatessens throughout the UK. Online the Trio is listed at £14.50.

Black Garlic

Chefs and foodies alike have made an exciting discovery – Black Garlic. With its unique and mellow flavour, soft and velvety texture and vibrant colour, this exciting version of a familiar favourite is bringing a new and inspiring taste to the table. Not to be confused with its regular ‘garlic’ counterpart, it offers subtle hints of balsamic and rich molasses flavours mixed with tangy garlic undertones that make this an appealing delicacy.

Black Garlic is a stylish fusion of flavours that is becoming the staple item in chefs’ and foodies’ kitchen cupboards and will be the perfect secret ingredient for the ‘Come Dine With Me’ generation of cooks.

Black Garlic’s founder Katy Heath, who discovered South Korean Black Garlic in 2008, says: “It is rare you find a completely new and distinctive flavour, especially one that is a twist on an existing recipe essential, and which transcends all cuisines. This unique ingredient makes the simplest of foods interesting, complimenting white fish, salads and even roast chicken. Baked eggs, spinach and black garlic served with toasted soldiers is the perfect example of how this easy-to-use ingredient transforms the most ordinary meal into something extraordinary.’

Using only the finest grown garlic, Black Garlic is produced with a new method recently developed in the USA. A standard sized bulb is put through a carefully controlled heating and moisture process for several weeks. The sugars and amino acids react together during this time producing melanoidin – which is responsible for the rich black colour.

Not only is it full of flavour, Black Garlic also has a variety of health benefits. Boasting nearly twice the antioxidants of regular garlic, it is also low in fat and rich in natural sugars and leaves no trace of smell or bad breath – even when eaten straight from the bulb. With absolutely no additives either, it has a much longer shelf life than fresh garlic.

Black Garlic is available from Tesco, Waitrose, all good delicatessens and independent food stores with prices starting at £1.49 and come in different sizes and formats – Black Garlic 1 bulb bag and peeled Black Garlic 50g pot.

Tesco will be stocking six of the fresh herb and spice range – Basil, Chilli, Coriander, Garlic, Ginger and Thai Spices – all of which can be found in store in the chilled section or online.

To celebrate these latest products Gourmet Garden is giving one lucky winner the chance to win a gourmet adventure holiday to Noosa, Australia. Not only will the winner win two return flights to Brisbane and seven nights’ accommodation on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, they will also get the chance to visit the Audi 2012 Noosa Food and Wine Festival and the Australia Zoo, owned by the family of the late Steve Irwin.

If that wasn’t enough, the winner will get the chance to tour the Gourmet Garden factory and receive a ‘Cooking with Herbs’ master class with some of Australia’s favourite chefs.

Gourmet Garden offers a totally unique and ultimate solution for cooking with fresh flavours – fresh herbs and spices in a tube that are bursting with just-picked flavour for creating mouth-watering fresh meals in minutes.

The perfect alternative to using dried herbs and spices, the herbs are simply picked, washed, chopped, blended and packed into tubes to maintain all their fresh taste and nutrition.

There are nine individual herb and spice blends available in the core range – Basil, Hot Chilli, Coriander, Chives, Garlic, Ginger, Italian Herbs, Lemon Grass, and Parsley – with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Use them to flavour sauces, soups and dressings, for seasoning meat, seafood and stir fries, and to add a kick to curries, stews, noodle and pasta dishes.

Ideal for busy cooks who don’t want to lose out on flavour, these handy tubes are stored in the fridge and keep their fresh taste for 3 months, and can also be used straight from the freezer.

Priced at RRP £2.19 per tube, Gourmet Garden products are now stored in Tesco nationwide.

Brillat Savarin Affine Cheese

One of the most popular cheeses in Europe is proving to be strangely illusive to the nation’s cheese lovers. Brillat Savarin Affine is a soft, creamy white cheese that appeals to even the fussiest of pallets, yet its own popularity is becoming the cheeses own nemesis. Some cheese enthusiasts are putting in orders months ahead, just to ensure delivery.

Brillat Savarin Affine is a luxurious cheese named after one of France’s most legendary food writers, Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin. The lawyer-turned-food-writer had the honour of the MAGNUM cheese taking his moniker in the 1970’s following his rise in popularity as French Gourmet and political figure. The cheese itself, from the Normandy region, is a triple cream Brie that is luscious, creamy and faintly sour, going well with medjool dates and also champagne.

Nick Baines of JustCheese.co.uk, one of the UK’s top online cheese stockists, is proud that their website is one of the few places that Brillat-Savarin is consistently available: “We have established a fantastic relationship with the producers of Brillat-Savarin cheese. It’s true that this cheese’s popularity has caused a real supply and demand issue, so we are just pleased that we are able to be one of the few stockists of this esteemed variety. This really is one of our favourite cheeses!” JustCheese.co.uk carries a wide variety of artisan cheeses and caters online to the UK’s cheese aficionados by supplying cheeseboards featuring a selection of top cheese delights.

There is no definite date in sight when Brillat-Savarin Affine will be available on a wider scale, purely due to demand. Sites like JustCheese.co.uk give cheese lovers an easy and speedy option of getting hold of their favourite cheese.

Just Cheese is offering Brillat Savarin Affine for £7.95 for 150g.

Bridget and Gianluca met on a flight to Rome and after discovering a shared passion for ice cream the special ‘Dolce Vita’ flavour was born. Gianluca has since become a massive fan of Gelateria Danieli after falling in love with his special new flavour and will make a special appearance at the ice cream maker’s stores to serenade customers will his schedule permits and he is next in the UK.

“Gelateria Danieli is delighted to be collaborating with one of Italy’s biggest stars,” says Gelateria Danieli founder Bridget Hunt. “Gianluca is a real Latino heartthrob and we think his ice-cream and personal apprearances will have our customer’s hearts melting when he visits in the autumn.”

“Since meeting Bridget earlier this year, I’ve had a chance to sample quite a few Gelateria Danieli ice cream flavours and I’m delighted to lend my support when I’m in the UK,” says Gianluca Paganelli. “I can’t wait to perform for customers at Gelateria Danieli stores and it will be great fun giving out samples of the ice cream named in my honour.”
