FSA Wales launches Recipe for Life
There are eight nutritious, easy to make recipes and lots of top tips, in the Food Standard Agency’s new Recipe for Life leaflet. It is designed to help people over 50 achieve a healthy balanced diet; although I’m sure it is suitable for all.
The magazine style leaflet includes:
information on the eatwell plate
tips on packing more fruit and vegetables into your diet
reducing intake of salt and fat
boosting essential minerals and nutrients
food safety
making conventional recipes healthier
traffic light labels
stocking up your store cupboard
Recipe for Life, which includes recipes for Couscous Salad, Fish Cakes and Chicken and Vegetable Soup, has been designed as a companion to The Good Life, FSA’s nutritional advice for the over 50s, and has been developed in response to feedback, which highlighted the need for more recipe ideas, received from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Keep Well this Winter campaign.
A PDF/electronic version of Recipe for Life is available to download or you can ask for a printed copy from email: wales@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk
