London’s 500 best independent shops via Unchainedguide.com
Unchainedguide.com is a guide to the very best independent shops in London, with over 500 shops you won’t want to miss.
Unchained launches as a community of the 500 best boutiques and independent retailers across the capital. These 500 ‘finds’ include everything from fashion boutiques to fitness trainers, fancy dress outfitters to fishmongers and fine art to furniture. If you’re after food, fashion, household items, sporting equipment, toys or you are just sick of the banality offered by identikit London high streets, this site’s for you. The food and drink section currently lists 147 shops ranging from Paul A. Young boutique chocolaterie to the YN wine Emporium near Hyde Park (pictured).
The site is incredibly user friendly. Shoppers can search by neighbourhood, type or even character, and then create a list of personal favourites. One of the site’s most popular features is the ‘Shopping Trip’ which helps you plan your expedition. For example, if you’re looking for vintage fashion in Bethnal Green, this personalised planner will plot all the Unchained vintage stores on a map of the area to print out and take with you.
The Unchained concept is the brainchild of Lea Simpson, Dave Birss and Pedro Garcia, who all come from the marketing and advertising industry. “So many shoppers looking for more choice than the standard High Street,” says Lea. “We wanted to let shoppers know just how many amazing independent shops are out there.”
The launch of www.unchainedguide.com gives Londoners and visitors a window on independent shopping in the capital.
