Only in America!

Fresh and QueasyAs you may be aware our beloved Tesco has opened a string of stores in America. Their Fresh and Easy stores were promised to be different. Bravely some of the stores have opened in less desirable areas of LA which must be good news for the locals.

The United Food and Commercial Workers union however is not as happy.

Feeling that they have been cold-shouldered by Tesco they have created a website called Fresh & Queasy whish offers a whole host of reasons not to shop at the UK-owned chain.

“Fresh and Easy is a division of the European corporation Tesco PLC, one of the largest and most aggressive corporations in the world. Newspapers call it the “Wal-Mart of the UK.”

Tesco has a bad record of selling organic foods containing pesticides, selling spoiled and rotten food, and dramatically underestimating their effect on the environment.

Now Tesco is trying to clean up their image by changing their name to Fresh & Easy in the U.S. with a slick public relations campaign.”

Perhaps the message is spreading. One quote I found on a forum highlights that

“That Fresh & Queasy site is an eye-opener… apparently Tesco sells rancid, poisoned puppies raised in sweat shops by child slave labor, and cuts down an acre of rain forest with every purchase. Color me informed.”

[…] And talking of Tesco… […]

I have noticed that this anti tesco website is blocked for viewing within the UK……

A recent development; it was viewable when this post was written.
