We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Ban Battery Farming of Hens and gradually fade out all Battery Farming in the UK. It is inhumane and cruel to the animals. In the 21st Century all farming should become free range. Britain should lead the way.

we should be we are what we eat, i do not not want to eat an animal that has to live in these horrible conditions i would want to respect the animal give it what it needs to live a normal happy life, free range, happy chucks means happy eggs which means happy humans.

Chickens go through such torture. I cant even imagine it. People who can do those sorts of things to animals disgust me. Battery farms are a disgrace and parliament is a disgrace for letting them carry on for so long.
It makes no sense as to why the government allows such cruelty to these poor defenceless creatures.You would have thought in this day and age we would have evolved from such barbaric treatment to a living ,breathing soul.The goverment are not going to earn respect if they continue to let these kind of things continue. Every animal has a right to its freedom, and just because us humans are bigger than a lot of other animals and have opposable thumbs doesn’t mean we should bully other animals.
If a human was kept in a cage, it would be all over the news, but for some reason its alright if we do it to a harmless animal???

i have kept chickens as pets for over 20 years, they are intelligent and respond to affection and commands just like a dog or cat.i hope this cruel way of chickens in cages is stopped . my son has rescued 4 and they are happy and have individual personalities.
