Purple Love Week is Britain’s biggest free food tasting event. It takes place from 10th-17th February and is all about supporting your local independent retailers. Hundreds of delicatessens, farm shops and other small retailers are taking part and all are offering free tasting events in store during the week.
Shoppers will be able to pick up their very own Little Purple Love Book and, perhaps even fall in love for the first time with their local independent, who’ll be waiting for them with open arms, loads of tasty things to try and maybe even a hug or three!
“Purple Love Week brings together hundreds of great independents in one unique event and, although we obviously hope everyone will have great fun, the underlying message could not be more serious. It’s all about helping our small food shops thrive and survive because we’ll certainly miss them when they’re gone,” added Giles.
A dedicated website, www.purplelove.co.uk, flags up what’s happening.
