Real Food Festival

See, taste and smell for yourself really fabulous, ethically and sustainably produced food direct from the producers at prices everyone can afford!

The Real Food Festival 2009, which will take place in London Earls Court 8-10 May 2009, will once again top the food event calendar as the must-attend event of the year Celebrating its second anniversary, the Real Food Festival, is much, much more than a food market. Packed with events for the whole family, including some very friendly livestock, it’s also a chance to challenge your preconceptions about the food that you eat; to taste food as it really should be and to meet the people who grow, nurture and produce it. The Real Food Festival will clearly demonstrate how choosing food that is fresh, in season and produced with care not only tastes fantastic but it won’t blow your budget either. Come to the Real Food Festival and we promise to change your eating habits forever. Highlights of this year’s show will include a Real Food Market, master chefs in action, hands-on workshops and passionate debate about the future of our food.

The Real Food Market
You will be surprised and delighted at the cost and value that you will be able to find at this year’s Festival – buying direct from the people who produce your food can prove more cost-effective than you might think and you will enjoy better, healthier food. At the same time, when you buy direct you are ensuring that the producers are getting a fair reward for their work and that your money stays within local communities instead of feeding faceless institutional shareholders all over the world.

The Real Food Festival is unique in that it directly subsidises these small producers to come to the event. Therefore, not only are you unlikely to have seen them at any other food show, but when you buy your ticket you are directly contributing to helping their businesses succeed.

Master chefs in action
An exciting array of chef talent will be on display at this years Festival, including Raymond Blanc, Thomasina Miers, Tom Parker-Bowles, Ollie Rowe, Geetie Singh, Willie Harcourt-Cooze and Arthur Potts-Dawson. All of our chefs give their time for free, because each and every one of them embraces our core philosophy of supporting small producers.

Cookery School
Barny Haughton and his team are bringing the Bordeaux Quay Cookery School back to this years Festival. Roll up your sleeves and join him in learning tips and techniques on how to buy and prepare the finest quality ingredients on a tight budget.
