Seriously Good Curry Video

Gordon Ramsay is encouraging Britain to cook up a curry and do your bit for charity this National Curry Week 2011 (9-15 October) by using his Seriously Good curry sauces, the range he developed to raise money for Comic Relief.

The famously fiery chef has teamed up with Edwina Currie, Anneka Rice and “PoppaDom” Joly to create this hilarious video.

While Edwina, Anneka and Dom’s efforts to prepare an Indian feast for Gordon result in a disastrous food fight and a saucy encounter in the bedroom, Gordon knows that there is a much simpler way to celebrate National Curry Week.

Seriously Good Indian sauces provide a delicious base for a fuss free curry and 10p from every jar sold helps Comic Relief transform the lives of vulnerable people in the UK and some of the world’s poorest countries. Gordon doesn’t get a penny.

The Seriously Good Indian range includes four mouth-watering flavours; Aromatic Masala; Butter Chicken; Royal Korma and Spicy Red Curry. They are available to purchase all year round from selected Sainsbury’s and Tesco stores for RRP £1.99.

Cook Along With Ramsay’s Best British Restaurant!

Gordon Ramsay’s 2010 TV hit Ramsay’s Best Restaurant saw Sheffield gastro pub The Milestone crowned Best Restaurant in the British category. Now The Milestone’s Head Chefs Simon Ayres and James Wallis will pay homage to Ramsay’s other TV hit, Cookalong Live, by hosting their own version – and the whole country can join in.

Simon and James will be sharing their cooking expertise with every food enthusiast in the UK by giving them a chance to cook along live with them in the comfort of their own kitchen. At 7pm on Friday April 8th budding chefs are invited to log on to www.meadowhall.co.uk where they will be able to see Simon and James creating one of their signature dishes, Fish Pie and Pipérade, live at Meadowhall Shopping Centre and cook along with them.

In order to ensure participants are fully prepared for the event recipe cards including a list of ingredients and required utensils are available for download at www.meadowhall.co.uk. As well as live instructions on creating your very own dish the broadcast will feature a live chat feed enabling viewers to put questions to The Milestone team.

Simon Ayres says: “We’re really excited about sharing some of our kitchen secrets with people all over the country. We’ll be showing that with just a few simple ingredients a fresh, healthy, home-cooked meal can be made from scratch in half an hour.”

Milestone fans can also enter a competition online via the Meadowhall website to win a three course meal at the team’s new Sheffield restaurant, Wig & Pen by The Milestone, with five runners up receiving a signed copy of their first cook book, First, Catch Your Pig.

Gordon Ramsay Seriously Good Comic Relief Sauces

The Seriously Good range consists of five different sauces bursting with rich, intense flavours and are delicious served with meat, fish, vegetables or pasta. All ingredients have been selected by Gordon to ensure high quality, authentic tasting recipes. The range includes Spicy Red Pepper & Spianata Sausage; Bolognese & Red Wine; Tomato, Black Olive & Mixed Herb; Wild Mushrooms & Mascarpone; and Cherry Tomato & Balsamic.

For full information on the range, please see www.seriouslygood.com. This website is grand; while I’ve used the sauces straight from the bottle as a pasta sauce or added some sausgaes to bulk out one, the site offers more inventive recipes. Click on the sauce to hand and a few recipe suggestions are displayed. Simple, quick and effective.

Milestone Book - First Catch Your PigThe heat is well and truly on as The Milestone gastro pub, based in Kelham Island, Sheffield, famous for its relaxed contemporary atmosphere and homemade locally sourced food, is set to battle it out for a place in the final of ‘Ramsay’s Best Restaurant’, Gordon Ramsay’s latest Channel 4 show, to be aired on Tuesday 9th November.

The award-winning restaurant, already crowned the winning restaurant under Ramsay’s British category, will be put under the national spotlight once again as they go head to head with Bradford based Indian Restaurant, Pradesh. The Milestone, which opened only three years ago, has made it past over 12,000 other restaurants to the reach the semi-finals. The owners, Matt Bigland and Marc Sheldon, have already seen a large increase in the volume of bookings and interest.

Marc comments: “Business has been booming since appearing on Ramsay’s show and we’ve had lots of new faces through the door. It is very flattering to have people come and visit from all over the UK. Despite the added attention we have received, we’ve stayed true to our business and menu philosophy. We’ve continued to offer a highly personal dining experience, combined with a menu mixed with heritage and modernity, which is reflected our innovative use of fresh, locally sourced food.”

On the back of their recent success and the increasing interest about the venue’s ethos and philosophy behind the food and recipes, The Milestone has announced that it will be launching a cookbook.

Owner Matt Bigland comments: “After much grit and determination, we are very proud to be launching our first ever cookbook at the end of November. Out just in time for Christmas, First, Catch Your Pig shares our gastronomic knowledge, the chefs’ recipes and some stunning imagery of our culinary creations, farms and our own herd of pigs.”
