With those much-coveted early days of spring already upon us, chip connoisseurs across Britain can get into the spirit of balmy summer days with the launch of Tyrrells ’Garden Herbs’ and ‘Summer Barbecue’ potato chips as the spring / summer seasonal chips of choice. It might still be some time until we get to laze around our gardens, fire up barbecues and enjoy the heady aromas of the surrounding greenery, but foodies can already kick-start the celebration of all things summery now by relishing the two new flavours.
‘Garden Herbs’ blends four classic herbs – Basil, Thyme, Rosemary and Oregano, to give a delicately balanced yet flavoursome potato chip. Created specifically to capture the more relaxing side of the season, ‘Summer Barbecue’ is a smoky delight for the palate. The duo will be available in sharing size 150g bags as well as brand new 40g bags launched exclusively this summer, making them perfect for picnics as well as lunch-time treats.
Proud to be the only small chip maker in the UK to grow their own potatoes and turn them into delicious potato chips at Tyrrells Court Farm in Herefordshire, Tyrrells are in complete control from seed to chip. The potatoes are individually inspected, sliced and cooked in small batches in sunflower oil, before being delicately seasoned with flavours such as Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt and Black Pepper. For the more adventurous Tyrrells recommend Sweet Chilli & Red Pepper or Ludlow Sausage with Wholegrain Mustard. Tyrrells are also proud to be one of the original ‘Root Vegetable Chip’ innovators, introducing Mixed Root Vegetable chips, Beetroot Chips and Honey Glazed Parsnip chips to discerning snackers.
Tyrrells ‘Garden Herbs’ Potato Chips and ‘Summer Barbecue’ Potato Chips are available from quality retailers nationwide, including Waitrose between March and October 2010.
RRP £1.69 for 150g and £0.64 for 40g.
