UK BlogWatch: Del Sole Delicatessen

Del Sole Delicatessen blogFollowing the independent wine merchant blog it was only a matter of time before a decent deli set forth on the blog-front. It seems a natural synergy; offering recipes and how to use the products they sell without too much of the hard-sell.

Del Sole Delicatessen is the blog in question. Their ‘about’ page could do with some content but the recipes such as Mixed Rice Salad With Peppers, Feta Cheese And Fresh Herbs, Millet Salad With Goat’S Cheese, Avocado, Sour Cherry, Oven-Roasted Plum Tomato And Spicy Aubergine Jam, and Goat’s Cheese And Caramelised Red Onion Savoury Tart are backed up with some excellent photography.

The deli itself is based in Bath, 37 Moorland Road to be precise.

Thanks for the review Andrew.

I suspect the reason there aren’t more delis writing blogs is that its a hard enough job running a shop let alone running a regular blog as well!!

But it would be nice to be proved wrong - is anyone else out there doing both??

I am sure you are right Licia; same as wine merchants I guess - very difficult to keep the momento going. Amazing you manage to do it!

We have an Italian deli in Ireland and we also have a blog. It is quite difficult to do the 2 but I started it when on maternity leave so I had a little more time. I have to say it is the best thing I ever did, we have got so much free press here in Ireland and as a result have gotten even busier than we were. I think it is a fantastic marketing tool, I’m actually starting an online Italian shop as a result.
