Gary Rhodes will be hosting two exclusive Champagne dinners at Rhodes W1 Restaurant on 1 and 2 December 2010. Guests at this premium event will be treated to a canapé reception followed by a fabulous six course prestige menu with matching Gosset Champagnes and Frapin Cognac for £148 per person.

Gosset’s Champagne and Cognac expert, Philippe Manfredini, will present the different Champagnes and Cognacs between courses, explaining the background to these exquisite choices and how they match the dishes being served.

The delicious menu designed by Gary includes: Soft suckling pig raviolo with caramelised apple and roast pork gravy; Colchester oyster and chicken oyster ragu with Champagne, samphire and tarragon; and iced Champagne chiboust with poached English pears.

Gary Rhodes said: “Champagne is the drink of choice for the festive period so this exclusive event is the perfect opportunity to discover how you can match great tasting seasonal produce and ingredients with a variety of wonderful Gosset Champagnes. Our lucky diners will also have the chance to taste one of the world’s finest Cognacs and we are extremely lucky to have an expert from Gosset on hand to talk guests through the amazing selection available for them to try throughout the evening.”

The Gosset style is creamy and dry, but not acidic, with a long elegant finish. Gosset champagnes are wines which drink beautifully on their own or with a wide range of classic and modern dishes. Available only through top-end retailers and high quality hotels and restaurants, Gosset is a brand for everyone who truly loves good champagne. Champagne Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne established in Aÿ in 1584 and is owned by the Cointreau family. The Cointreaus also own Gosset’s sister company, Cognac Frapin.

Rhodes W1 is at the height of dining sophistication with dishes influenced by Gary’s style of classic British cuisine with a modern European twist. Designed by Kelly Hoppen, with beautiful antique mirrors draped in plush velvet, stunning Spina crystal chandeliers and original French chairs printed with Gary’s own handwritten recipes, guests can enjoy award winning food in a luxurious setting.

The cost of this special meal is £148 per person that includes a cocktail on arrival with canapes, a six course menu with champagne and coffee.
