Using only the finest grown garlic, Black Garlic is produced with a new method recently developed in the USA. A standard sized bulb is put through a carefully controlled heating and moisture process for several weeks. The sugars and amino acids react together during this time producing melanoidin - which is responsible for the rich black colour.
Not only is it full of flavour, Black Garlic also has a variety of health benefits. Boasting nearly twice the antioxidants of regular garlic, it is also low in fat and rich in natural sugars and leaves no trace of smell or bad breath – even when eaten straight from the bulb. With absolutely no additives either, it has a much longer shelf life than fresh garlic.
