Gordon Ramsay’s 2010 TV hit Ramsay’s Best Restaurant saw Sheffield gastro pub The Milestone crowned Best Restaurant in the British category. Now The Milestone’s Head Chefs Simon Ayres and James Wallis will pay homage to Ramsay’s other TV hit, Cookalong Live, by hosting their own version – and the whole country can join in.
Simon and James will be sharing their cooking expertise with every food enthusiast in the UK by giving them a chance to cook along live with them in the comfort of their own kitchen. At 7pm on Friday April 8th budding chefs are invited to log on to www.meadowhall.co.uk where they will be able to see Simon and James creating one of their signature dishes, Fish Pie and Pipérade, live at Meadowhall Shopping Centre and cook along with them.
In order to ensure participants are fully prepared for the event recipe cards including a list of ingredients and required utensils are available for download at www.meadowhall.co.uk. As well as live instructions on creating your very own dish the broadcast will feature a live chat feed enabling viewers to put questions to The Milestone team.
Simon Ayres says: “We’re really excited about sharing some of our kitchen secrets with people all over the country. We’ll be showing that with just a few simple ingredients a fresh, healthy, home-cooked meal can be made from scratch in half an hour.”
Milestone fans can also enter a competition online via the Meadowhall website to win a three course meal at the team’s new Sheffield restaurant, Wig & Pen by The Milestone, with five runners up receiving a signed copy of their first cook book, First, Catch Your Pig.
