Copella, UK’s leading brand of apple juice, has teamed up with iconic British home ware designer, Emma Bridgewater, to create a handmade limited edition mug as part of their Plant & Protect campaign.

English apple orchards have declined by a staggering 95% in the UK over the last 40 years. In response, Copella launched Plant & Protect campaign to re-ignite nation’s passion for English apples. This hand crafted mug features a unique apple illustration from Emma Bridgewater created in celebration of this passion. Designer Emma Bridgewater explains: ‘The design was inspired by the English apples Matthew and I have in our own back garden. The apple design illustrates the wonderful and eclectic varieties that can be found in England. I encourage everyone to get involved in the Copella Plant and Protect campaign and to grow apples in their own gardens too.’

The partnership is a first for Copella, who have been pressing and bottling apple juice on their farm in Boxford, Suffolk for over 40 years. Featuring intricately painted English apples, the mugs aim to increase awareness of the quirky characteristics they possess.

Copella’s Plant and Protect campaign is supported by Emma Bridgewater, David Bellamy and The National Trust. Brits are being asked to visit the campaign website at www.copellafruitjuices.co.uk to pledge their support and to register their own apple tree to help map out the UK’s English Apple landscape.

The limited edition mug will be available to buy at www.copellafruitjuices.co.uk for the next seven weeks priced at £17.95 and will also be available at Waitrose stores around the country by collecting three tokens from Copella juice bottles.
