Sadly not spit-roasting the landlord but but a festival of Caribbean/African cooking.
Fifteen of London’s best Caribbean focused food organisations (mainly restaurants) are selling their wares at stalls in the Horniman Museum Gardens this Sunday from 2pm until 6pm. You will be able to choose form authentic Caribbean and African foods such as ackee, saltfish, jerk chicken and pork and curried mutton with rice and peas. Events for the kiddies and some live music complete the package.
Come to the biggest and best Jerk Cookout competition live from the Horniman Gardens. Hosted by comedienne Donna Spence, relax in the beautiful award-winning Gardens and listen to salsa and spoken word. Sample the finest Jerk in south London from the many stalls competing, and buy fantastic gifts from the stalls.

Please advise if your are likely to host this event next year and can we buy tickets in advance for the event?
Hosting? I’m not hosting the event just reporting on it happening.
Just wanted to let all you jerk lovers out there know that Tropical Sun traditional jerk seasoning won gold this year at the Guild of Fine Food awards. They were also at Brockwell Park last year (picked up 3 bottles for a fiver!) and hopefully will be again. If you can’t get to Jerk Cookout then this is probably the next best thing; I swear by it and I know a number of cooks who use this as a basting on their dishes (sorry gran)!
when is the jerk festival in brockwell park this year 2011
when is the london cookout 2011?
We’ll keep our eyes open for this one in 2012, should do well.
