18th – 24th May is vegetarian week and new chilled food brand Pick Me is encouraging people to ditch the meat a couple of nights a week and enjoy a delicious hand prepared meal that’s healthy for them and good for the planet too!
A recent survey confirmed that 86 percent of meat-eating Britons regularly eat vegetarian dishes, confirming the need for tasty meat alternatives. It also showed that over half of the UK enjoys ready-made meals, with 50 percent of people eating them at least once a week1. Pick Me is a brand new, delicious food range that includes four delicious meat free dishes (three of which are equal to an amazing three of your five a day) – Kicking Jungle Curry, Cheeky Chunky Chilli, Shepherd’s Pie (without the Sheep) and Vegalicious Masala that are packed full of flavour and vegetable goodness and prove that you don’t need meat to make a tasty, filling meal.
Not only is vegetarian food good for you it’s also good for the health of the planet. The world’s leading authority on global warming Dr Rajendra Pachauri says that people should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice to help tackle climate change before going on to reduce their meat consumption even further.
So tuck into a delicious Pick Me vegetarian chilled meal and be good to yourself and kind to the planet too. Pick Me meals are preservative free, hand prepared and packed full of vegetable goodness. Pick Me believes that vegetables taste best as close to their natural form as possible as they know only the freshest ingredients can create such deliciously home-made flavours.
The full Pick Me range is available exclusively in 600 Tesco stores.

2From the details I have Waitrose and Sainsburys have some of the range. Not sure if Tesco is still stocking them… You need to look in the chilled ready meal cabinets.
