Coldpress Fruit Juice

coldpress fruit juice Coldpress fruit juice is a new drink from Closed Loop Foods made from 100% fruit juice with four times the shelf life of conventional chilled fruit juices.

Having launched successfully and being stocked immediately by in excess of 200 Waitrose outlets and being positioned competitively as a credible alternative to the ordinary range of juices Coldpress is fast expanding across the United Kingdom.

Coldpress provides a more thirst quenching, better tasting juice that is much high nutrition value than it’s competitors. By using a cold pressure as opposed to boiling the juices the brand retains a lot of its existing aromas and textures that the heated juices do not hold. Its unique bottle design sees it being an exciting and breath of fresh air in what is a fairly crowded market in the UK.

Coldpress is available in 250ml and 750ml bottles designed for the consumer market and retail routes as well as the new ‘Bag in a Box’ product that is far more cost effective to the restaurant, bars, clubs and other outlets.

Coldpress Fruit Juice is available in seven flavours that include - Pink Lady, Golden Delicious, Valencia Orange, Apple & Lemon, Apple & Passionfruit, Apple & Raspberry, Apple & Strawberry.

A January ‘detox’ Can Do More Harm Than Good

AOK - red grape, cherry, aloe vera and ginger drinkFeeling bloated after too much bubbly? Partied out? Stuffed after too much Christmas cake and turkey sandwiches? Stuart Roberts, nutritionist and founder of antioxidant juice AOk Drinks, confirms recent media reports that short-term detox programmes, typically a January detox, to ‘flush out your system’ are a waste of time and money.

“Do-it-yourself detox kits are widely available to buy, but your body has its own incredible detoxification system known as your liver and kidneys. DIY kits can cause more harm than good, particularly if your body has become accustomed to over-indulgence over a long period of time. The body can go into shock if you go from one extreme to another.

“Quick fixes are not the answer to long-term health improvements. Instead, I recommend small lifestyle changes that you can incorporate into your daily life throughout the year – rather than just focusing on January. You can increase the amount of fruit and vegetables you eat by adding chopped fruit and nuts to your morning cereal or making a winter salad for a lighter evening meal. You can try cutting out processed foods particularly those containing saturated and trans (man-made) fats. I also recommend walking more regularly, avoiding sitting down for long periods of time without moving, drinking more water, upping your vitamin and antioxidant intake and, when possible, getting more quality sleep during the night,” says Stuart Roberts.

“There are no quick-fixes to health and nutrition, however, there are small steps that we can take that add up to massive changes in how we look and feel.”

AOk is a red grape, cherry, aloe vera and ginger drink, with a hint of vanilla. One 250ml bottle of AOk provides your daily recommendation of antioxidants (nutritionists recommend 3,000-5,000 per day and AOk contains 3,600) and just 145 calories.

Stuart created the drink in 2008 to provide a synergistic combination of antioxidant packed ingredients. Designed to meet consumer demands for healthy convenience, the drink is a tasty alternative to mainstream flavours and offers an original flavour.

Stuart Roberts says: “Antioxidants are vital in our diets. With most things, consistency makes the difference. Consuming your ‘five-a-day’ and recommended amount of antioxidants (which can help prevent injury and muscle soreness after exercise too) will all add up to make you look and feel better over time.”

AOk retails for £1.69 per 250ml bottle and is available at selected Waitrose stores nationwide (http://www.aokdrinks.com/antioxidants/file/stores.php), Waitrose.com and Ocado.com.

NEW WEBSITE PUTS BRITISH DRINKS ON THE MAP

DrinkBritain.com is a brand new website celebrating the best of Britain’s drinks culture, putting the nation’s best beer, cider, wine and spirits producers on the map together for the first time.

Britain has a long history of producing fine drinks – its world-famous Scotch whiskies are one good example. And now, thanks to a determined bunch of pioneering individuals, Britain also produces sparkling wines to rival the best that the French have to offer, beers to make the Germans weep, and ciders that turn the humble apple into something a whole lot sexier.

DrinkBritain.com provides useful tips and recommendations on the best drinks Britain has to offer and over 130 of the best places to visit. Whether you are planning a holiday in the UK, a fun day out for all the family (parents included) or just want to learn more about locally-produced drinks, it’s the essential starting place.

Visitors to DrinkBritain.com can find out where to experience the other face of the British drinks culture: poetry walks around an orchard, photography classes among the vines, a cider producer with an adventure playground for the kids, or even learn to distil their own gin.

There’s information on where to buy great beers, ciders, wines and spirits and editor Susanna Forbes is on hand to answer questions and give advice. You will also find quirky facts about our favourite British drinks, plus news, events and drinks reviews.

Susanna comments: “The time is right to celebrate all that is unique and great about British drinks. DrinkBritain.com aims to help people here and abroad to discover another side of British drinks culture and learn more about the fine tipples made here in the UK. Great British produce and locally sourced ingredients are enjoying a resurgence and we want to make sure people see that they have some of the world’s finest drinks being produced on their doorstep.”

DrinkBritain.com invites the public to be in touch with their recommendations of places near them open to visitors so it can review all suggestions and add more worthy destinations to its site. “Please visit www.drinkbritain.com and tell us about your favourite producers” says Susanna. “Check out our competitions over launch week and keep in touch via twitter, Facebook and by subscribing to our newsletter.”
