This summer sees the launch of Country Life butter’s ‘Great British Picnics’ website and mobile phone app to help the British public celebrate one of life’s simple pleasures - the picnic.

The Great British Picnics website and app has been developed to make enjoying this simple pleasure even easier, with the best picnic locations, scrummie recipes and top advice available at your fingertips.
Launched this June, Great Britain’s first interactive website and mobile phone app, courtesy of Country Life, will be available at www.countrylifegreatbritishpicnics.co.uk. The complete guide to picnics app will be free to download and supports real-time updates.

As the only major British butter brand to be made exclusively with milk from British dairy farms, Country Life is proud to reveal some of Britain’s secret and lesser known picnic spots with the help of Tess Sandilands, Country Life’s picnic extraordinaire and author of Happy Campers. Tess kindly rolled up her blanket and hit the road for three weeks to seek out Great Britain’s best spots.

Country Life, together with affiliate recommendations, has created a guide with more than 600 picnic spots across England, Scotland and Wales. From meadows to the forests, to lakeside and beachside locations we really believe we have covered it all.

Tasty Recipes
Whether you’re picnicking with little adventurers or lazy loafers, there are over 30 step-by-step recipes to help prepare the right dishes from ‘quicnics’ to ‘blanket banquets’, and even kids parties, bringing a taste of the country to everyone.

Add your own
Country Life’s Great British Picnics website is maintained both by expert and guest reviews of British picnic sites. With personal recommendations of the Great British public, why not add your own? Stick a flag in the map and claim a corner of a far-flung field as your very own picnic spot. Write a review, add photos and share it with the rest of the country.

The Country Life picnic experts have left no rug unturned, so once you choose a picnic spot, you can check the weather, tap into the picnic planner menu and use the Country Life ‘Farm Shop Finder’ for the very freshest, local ingredients available.

Here is a sneak preview of what else you will find when you download the Country Life’s Great British Picnics app.
